Norwich based signs, graphics and wide-format printer CIM Signs & Graphics has installed a Canon Océ Colorado 1650, the first of its kind in East Anglia.
The press, the company’s sixth overall, is capable of printing materials such as banners, bespoke wallpaper, large office graphics and posters measuring up to 1.6m wide. Print can be finished in matt or gloss without separate lamination and the ink is instantly dry enabling the prints to be worked on immediately.
The company was able to make the purchase thanks to a £10,000 grant from the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership’s (LEP) Growing Business Fund. The fund offers grants up to £500,000 to businesses in Norfolk and Suffolk looking to grow and create jobs.
‘We are delighted to install this new printer, which will enable us to further improve the service and lead times for customers,’ said managing director Mark Baker. ‘We pride ourselves on turning jobs around fast so this machine will be a big asset to our business. It’s very exciting to be the first company in East Anglia to be able to offer this kind of print and we can’t wait to put the Canon Océ through its paces.’
In 2018, CIM acquired additional premises directly next door to its existing unit to boost the company’s vehicle graphics facilities by 30%. In the same year, the company also installed a new Rollsroller flatbed applicator machine, two additional wide format printers and a laminator.
