Aurora Graphics has invested in a Durst Rho LED 512R production printer along with accompanying software. Installing the 5m wide machine will allow the Birmingham-based company to offer extra services for clients in a variety of markets in which it already operates.
The Durst Rho LED 512R is a six-colour with white production printer and was supplied with software provided through Durst Professional Services, which will also introduce new mechanisms for ink usage control, provide unattended printing capabilities and improve workflow.
‘It’s never an easy decision with an investment of this scale, so we had to see what was available on the market,’ said Aurora managing director Mike Stearn. ‘The reason we selected Durst included the build quality, productivity and versatility. The Rho 512R LED will complement our existing equipment and help us to continue to provide a first-class level of service to our clients and give a wider choice of products we can service to them.
‘This is another example of our commitment to investing in the best technology in the market, which will complement our existing portfolio and helps us to step up to the next level. It also reflects the ethos of a client-led company that always seeks to employ solutions-driven people who will continue to further professionalise the business. We certainly don’t want robots.’
Aurora Graphics produces digital print for a range of sectors including exhibitions, POS, outdoor graphics, backlits, as well as working with some trade and print management companies. ‘I envisage the introduction of the Rho 512R will lead to significantly more work in the exhibition arena and outdoor graphics, plus will give us the capabilities for longer runs for quality, higher-end contracts, as well as more backlits,’ Mr Stearn finished. ‘And, of course, we’ll be able to turn round jobs far more quickly now, thanks to the fantastic productivity, as well as offer more services to clients.’
