John E Wright, a print company that has been in business since 1900, has installed two HP Latex 570 systems at its facility in Hull.

The company’s head office can be found in Nottingham, but in 2004 it opened another operation in Hull to offer digitally printed signage, exhibition and outdoor display graphics. It has since added branches in Derby, Leicester and Oxford. Across these six locations John E Wright now uses HP Latex systems for printing outdoor banners, vehicle wraps, roll-up displays, wallpaper and retail window graphics. It also employs HP Designjet Z Series wide-format printers with aqueous inks for indoor applications such as posters.

In late 2019 it opted to replace two older HP Latex printers, as managing director Tony Barnett explains, ‘Two HP Latex 570 printers replaced two older Latex 360 systems in Hull, where our flourishing vehicle wrap business needed more print capacity. The 570s achieve a good quality print with vibrant colours and the bulk ink option keeps our ink prices low. Thanks to the increased speed and ease of use of these machines we can achieve tighter deadlines, at lower production costs.’

Despite this update to its Hull site, the company is refusing to rest on its laurels. ‘We are looking to grow our graphics business throughout our Midlands and Yorkshire regions through the acquisition of local businesses and the development of local talent,’ Mr Barnett finished.

Mr Barnett first went to see the HP Latex 570 in action at Sign and Digital UK in 2019 and was impressed with its fast print speeds, quick and easy front-loading, workflow efficiencies and colour reproduction.
