Eight Days A Week Print Solutions (EDWPS) has added to its digital firepower, installing a Xerox Versant 3100.
The new press, which replaces a Versant 2100, joins a Xerox Baltoro, installed in March, at the company’s Nottingham premises.
EDWPS says that the Xerox Versant 3100 brings ‘higher levels of automation and productivity whilst the image quality and range of substrates supported allows a broader range of new work to be considered.’
Managing director Lance Hill commented, ‘The Xerox Baltoro HF has settled in well and has given us a different level of capability. It is perfect for low ink coverage essential communications and direct mail, where our volumes are steadily growing. The Xerox Versant 3100 services our print on demand and high-end work where the volumes are lower but the ink coverage much higher. Our web-to-print customer base is also expanding which is where the Versant 3100 will come into its own.
‘Having both inkjet and digital allows us to choose the best technology for the work in hand, having both provides us with agility in both production and economics. It’s the best of both worlds, they are definitely better together.
‘Our diverse customer base has allowed us to weather the current situation, whilst retail may have been challenged, we are now seeing a steady rise in demand from other sectors, our business in healthcare, pharmaceuticals and education has been relatively consistent.
‘Our current mix of work and what we are planning moving forward allowed us to make the decision very quickly. Our customers are looking for new ideas and initiatives from us to enhance their businesses, particularly at this time.’
