Dorset-based Henry Ling has become the first company in the UK to install a Canon ProStream 1000.
The book and journal print business has had a relationship with Canon for 14 years and the ProStream 1000 is its third Canon device. The new high-speed inkjet machine enables it to extend its printing services across the ‘full lifecycle of a title, delivering quality printing and binding of both limp and case bound books, whilst offering its existing customers higher quality output.’
Henry Ling said that Canon’s reputation for reliability was a factor in its opting for the new system and that it was already impressed with its current Canondevices ‘operating with excellent productivity and high levels of uptime.’
The company added that the ProStream 1000’s colour consistency, detail sharpness and registration accuracy will allow it to ‘guarantee its customers quick service and high quality book printing across a broad range of media.’
‘We are extremely proud to announce our new investment,’ said Henry Ling managing director Helen Kennett. ‘The ProStream 1000 will allow us to continue providing our existing publishers with superior quality products, while extending our excellent service to the trade book market. We have confirmed our commitment to this new market by hiring a new sales professional who brings a wealth of experience to best serve these publishers.
‘We’ve worked with Canon for a long time and have always been impressed not only with the high product and service quality, but also with its knowledge of the book industry itself. We’re excited that this new inkjet press means we can continue to grow this strong relationship.’
Stuart Rising, head of commercial print, production printing products, Canon UK, added, ‘We have a longstanding relationship with Henry Ling and we are delighted they are our first UK customer to install our latest high-speed web-fed inkjet technology. We believe the ProStream 1000 is a great fit to enable the company to meet the future market requirements of the book trade. We always strive to ensure our customers find the best products and seek to become an integral part of their ongoing print journeys.’
