Mutoh has launched a heavy duty automated feed and take-up system for its XpertJet 1.6m roll-fed signage and display printers.
Officially called the IJ-TUP100-01, the new system mounts onto the original stand of any XpertJet 1641SR or 1682SR printer and adds capability to handle 100kg rolls of media in addition to the existing 30 or 40kg take-up units. It provides fully automated feed and take-up and is aimed at higher volume users who frequently print full rolls at a time or who are using heavy media types which can be difficult to unwind and feed because of static or sticky coatings.
Mutoh says the IJ-TUP100-01 is quick and easy to fit to the original printer stand, with finished output automatically wound to maximise production efficiency, allowing operators to leave the machines unattended for longer periods to attend to other tasks. It is also possible to use the existing 30kg roll feeder in conjunction with the 100kg take-up system for smaller jobs and lighter weight media, thus increasing the printer’s flexibility.
