Premier Paper has opened a new regional distribution centre in the North West of England. The move comes less than a year after the company announced it had opened similar regional centres in Dartford and Bristol.
The new 30,000sqft facility in Haycock, St Helens, more than doubles Premier’s warehouse capacity in the region. It will allow the company to offer its customers a ‘fast and efficient’ service to customers in Liverpool, Manchester and the rest of the North West. It will also play a key role in Premier’s national distribution network, supporting other branches throughout the north of England and Scotland.
‘Our Liverpool and Manchester sales teams will continue to operate independently, based at the new regional facility, which is just 20 minutes drive from both Liverpool and Manchester city centres,’ said northern operations director Mike Banks.
‘We believe that Premier already offers industry-leading service, but we are always looking at how we can do things better as our customer base develops and service requirements change. With a vehicle fleet made up of 10 trucks and an articulated lorry, the location will enable us to improve our logistics service across the North West.
‘The new branch will keep extensive stocks of our core paper products, such as our Essential range and the UPM Finesse and UPM Fine ranges that we have recently added to our portfolio. In addition, Haydock will also be a regional stock centre for our other products and materials. A range of transit packaging will be held on site, together with our growing range of roll and sheet media for the sign and display market. Our aim is to offer the widest choice of products coupled with an industry-leading service that continues to meet the changing needs of our customers.’
