Soar Valley Press’ digital marketing apprentice, Pippa Culverwell, has been named runner-up in the Association of Colleges Student of The Year Awards.
Ms Culverwell, who completed her apprenticeship with North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College, has managed to produce an eightfold increase in traffic to the Leicestershire-based company’s website.
Whilst working remotely she has also gained several qualifications including a Level 4 CIM award in Digital Marketing and a Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of Coding. Ms Culverwell also won the East Midlands Chamber ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award in November 2020 and is now employed as a marketing coordinator.
Her efforts were recognised as she took the runner-up place in the national awards, announced on 24 February during the Association of Colleges’ ‘CollegesLive’ Student Conference. The judging panel was made up of members of the AoC Charitable Trust Board, the AoC president and the AoC deputy chief of executive-member services.
‘We’re proud of Pippa who has performed brilliantly since she joined us,’ said Chris Goodman, managing director at Soar Valley Press. ‘It’s fantastic that she’s been recognised by the Association of Colleges in this way. I gave her a really wide range of tasks to work on and she has developed new strategies and seen some great results from the campaigns she has put together for us. We look forward to seeing her develop further in her future career.’
