Platinum Print has become the first UK company to install a HP Indigo 12000 with 15K Value Pack. The family run company, based in Yorkshire, has its sights set on expanding into new markets and believes its new press will further expand its digital capabilities.
The company offers marketing, design, print, signage and direct mail solutions and the investment in the HP Indigo 12000 will improve its offerings for short-run packaging, personalised direct mail and commercial prints with unique finishes.
In addition the HP Indigo 15K Value Pack provides a boost to productivity and profitability, with AI-driven efficiency, and high-value, multi-substrate short run production. HP says it gives the same ‘superior print quality of more expensive presses for a much lower cost.’
‘We chose to invest in HP Indigo 12000 because of the superior quality and lightning-fast efficiency – and with the 15K Value Pack, we’re able to broaden our customer offerings and take on exciting new jobs with confidence,’ explained David Wyvill, managing director of Platinum Print. ‘The additional software offerings from HP Indigo, like PrintOS, will become a pivotal part of the transition to a digital print set-up at Platinum, and will enable us to become more automated and hands-on when we need to.’
Built on the HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press, the HP Indigo 12000 is a B2 sheet-fed digital press that can print at speeds of 3450sph (4600 in extended production mode) and on media up to 450 microns thick.
It will also help Platinum Print to meet its sustainability goals. Keen to partner with a vendor that has strong sustainability credentials, the company valued the carbon neutral manufacturing of the machine as well as the fact that it offers reduced production waste, a takeback programme and energy efficiency.
