Mutoh has introduced the XpertJet 1682WR, a 1.6m roll-fed printer for dye sublimation transfer paper used in the production of a wide range of polyester-based materials and products, from textile display graphics and décor to customised garments or sportswear, soft signage, rigid displays and personalised promotional items or gifts.
The successor to the ValueJet 1638WX, the new machine is based on Mutoh’s Xpert Jet platform and offers eight channels via dual piezo printheads, allowing four, six, seven or eight-colour configurations and variable drop sizes between 2.8 and 33.9pl. Typical speeds vary between 10 and 48sqm/hr and a choice of 30, 40 or 100kg motorised take-up rolls is offered for volume production.
A multi-stage pressure roller system is designed to improve media feed stability with a wide range of sublimation papers and roll installation has been made simpler, with roll diameters from 150 to 250mm supported. The XpertJet 1682WR integrates into Mutoh’s Media Tracker system which prints a barcode on the roll before it is removed, used subsequently to detect how much media is left on the roll when it’s re-loaded.
The XpertJet 1682WR is available immediately and according to Mutoh will suit both start-up and established businesses looking to expand their portfolio with dye sublimation products.
