MIS PrintLogic is now fully integrated with Enfocus Switch software to bring increased efficiency to print workflow across a range of sectors and applications, including commercial and wide-format digital printing.
The integration of the MIS software, which has over 1000 installations, primarily in the UK, and the established automation software from Enfocus, is said to bring a number of benefits, allowing seamless transfer of job and customer data, saving time on re-keying information and avoiding errors in such processes.
Processes that can be automated this way include receipt of jobs, file conversion to PDF, pre-flighting (including addition of bleed) and colour management, creation and issuing of proofs, if appropriate, and automated imposition and submission of jobs to the press.
‘Our customers implement this integration as it makes job set-up very slick, avoids re-keying data and allows both systems to keep in sync with the status of the job,’ explained PrintLogic developer Wildcard Software’s Geoff Needham, adding, ‘For example, PrintLogic users in a remote office can see where a job is in terms of production in real time when they are fielding queries from customers.’
PrintLogic also notes that integrations carried out with Irish Enfocus Partner Mediainc have been ‘unexpectedly easy’ and that customer response has been very positive; PrintLogic provides customisation, data transfer from legacy systems plus staff training and support for the MIS.
