Polar, the German post-press specialist, is providing a range of special offers to customers as it celebrates its 115th anniversary. The family-owned company, was founded in 1906 as Adolf Mohr, Maschinenfabrik, plans to offer anniversary incentives between May and October of this year.
Specifically the company, headquartered in Hofheim, in the German state of Hesse, plans to offer Compact software for free to anyone purchasing one of its N Pro HD high-speed cutters.
With Compucut, it is possible to create cutting programs outside the high-speed cutter itself. Specifically the software uses prepress data to create cutting programs automatically and transfers these either directly to networking-capable cutting machines or to the external cutting program administration. Every cutting machine integrated into the network can access the cutting programs stored in the external cutting program administration. An optional barcode scanner makes it possible to automatically load the assigned cutting program.
The company has risen from a regional manufacturer to the point where it can describe itself as a ‘market leader in the field of cutting and die-cutting’ with more than 500 employees based at sites in Hofheim, Hochheim and Shanghai, It puts its success down to, amongst other things, its ‘innovative and future-oriented solutions.’ In addition to high-speed cutters, its product portfolio also includes components and systems that can be used to optimise cutting and die-cutting processes. This includes network integration and efficiency-enhancing automation concepts.
