Epson has added two new printers to its SureColor range, the SC-P8500D for photo production and the SC-T7700D, which is aimed at the technical and AEC market. The printers, both of which are 44-in wide, are set to be available from September 2021.
The SC-P8500D has been designed for high print-volume poster production and copy shops offering large format photo printing also as self-service. The six colour UltraChrome Pro6 inkset offers matte and photo black as well as a new grey ink for smooth gradations and reduced graininess.
Tom Owers, pro graphics product manager at Epson UK, commented, ‘Our customers in this area need low running costs, high production speeds and easy printer handling. Combined with great image quality and a small footprint, the SC-P8500D is an ideal proposition.’
Meanwhile the SureColor SC-T7700D has been designed for architectural, engineering and construction companies producing detailed and precise CAD plans and drawings as well as retailers that need to produce POS posters that exactly replicate logo colours. Mr Owers added, ‘The SC-T7700D offers a fully integrated printing solution with productive printing, smart features and easy operation with the highest standards of document security.’
Epson is marketing both new machines as slim-line and unobtrusive, adding that ‘they fit seamlessly into most working environments.’ Both machines use 2.64-in PrecisionCore MicroTFP printheads, Variable Sized Droplet technology, and Nozzle Verification Technology. They also boast an automatic roll-loading feature and Epson says that secure printing is assured thanks to a ‘vast range of enhanced IT and security features.’
