Leeds-based Faber Exposize, which also trades as Northern Flags, has become Agfa’s largest dye sublimation print site in Europe with the installation of an Avinci C3200 roll-fed printer.
Looking to capitalise on growth achieved in 2020 by pivoting to Covid-related products, the company added the 3.2m printer to increase capacity particularly in the production of backlit products. Capable of 270sqm/hr, the Avinci C3200 now doubles capacity without compromising quality, and it ability to print to transfer papers is expected to allow Faber Exposize to increase its work in soft furnishings as well as in the retail and exhibition sectors.
The addition of the new printer follows a pre-pandemic £500,000 investment, with the construction of a new mezzanine floor for the specialist exhibition finishing department and a roster of additional finishing equipment. Managing director Iain Clasper-Cotte, said, ‘When we moved into these premises in 2017 we never intended to become the UK’s largest Agfa dye sublimation print partner, let alone Europe’s largest operator! The new Avinci CX3200 is our sixth large format printer and will allow us to deliver even better quality, agility and flexibility to our growing book of clients.
‘During the pandemic, we saw a huge increase in demand for our rigid signage but now that businesses are reopening after the pandemic, we’re also seeing a real desire for backlit and frontlit print too. For retail, commercial interiors and exhibitions it’s a great way to wow with vibrant print and our new addition from Agfa will ensure we can deliver the best around.’
