Spingold Design & Print has invested in a Konica Minolta AccurioPress C14000 in order to keep up with online orders.
The Suffolk-based company, which invested in a Duplo PFI DI-300 rotary die-cutter at the turn of the year, has been experiencing a surge in interest in its niche bespoke playing and gaming cards and therefore worked with ASL Group to install the AccurioPress in order to expand its capacity.
Spingold said it was specifically attracted by the machine’s long sheet capability, three high-capacity vacuum feed stacking trays, and speed (140ppm).
‘Konica Minolta is the first manufacturer to offer a set of three paper draws that will hold up to 900mm – you can effectively have three long sheet substrates in there,’ said ASL’s Paul Stead. ‘With the combination of impressive speeds, attractive service costs and extensive long sheet feed capacity, the AccurioPress C14000 represents an evolution in digital output that fuels productivity increases for businesses like Spingold.’
Ed Oakes, managing director at Spingold added, ‘Along with the impressive input capacity and assured output quality, the speed was the big difference, as it had the potential to double our capacity.
‘The increased capacity and speed have been highly beneficial in helping us meet the demands of our customers. We run four printers and two laminators, so this increase in capacity means we now has more time to attend to all the machines, rather than having to manually supervise printing of large jobs.’
Jon Hiscock, head of Production and Industrial Print at KonicaMinolta finished by saying that, ‘We are delighted that, in conjunction with ASL Group, Konica Minolta are able to provide our market leading production technologies and support to Spingold and help them continue to grow and evolve as a business delivering highly innovative products.’
