Brightside Print & Design has kicked off 2022 by updating its finishing equipment with new Morgana technology.

The East London-based company, which has been in business for more than 30 years, has upgraded its Documaster bookletmaker to one from Morgana’s BM range as well as adding a System AF2000S. Brightside feels these machines, combined with a DigiFold Pro folding machine, will help take its ‘print finishing and consistent growth to the next level.’

The System AF2000S has a high-capacity dual bin feeder which is air assisted, as well as a front edge trimmer unit. It can produce up to 3000 books per hour and will allow Brightside to offer a wide range of booklet types and sizes.

Meanwhile the the DigiFold Pro is able to both crease and score up to 6000 A4 sheets per hour and, in combination with the System AF2000S, it is set to significantly increase turnaround times in East London.

Laurence Hobbs, Brightside’s National Group sales director, commented on the installations, which follow hot on the heels of Brightside’s investment in a Matrix 370 laminator and Graphtec F-Mark Cutter in 2021.

‘This is a really exciting time at Brightside,’ Mr Hobbs said. ‘Our growth over the last year, in quite a tricky environment, has allowed us to purchase these new machines helping our production levels to be larger and faster whilst not compromising quality. We operate in a world where our customers demand a prompt, if not, almost instant service. This recent investment is the next step in our plan to continue meeting their expectations.

‘We’re all very excited for Brightside’s future,’ he finished. ‘Since the end of lockdown last year, we have seen a positive rise in demand and I’m very optimistic 2022 will be a significant year for us. Especially now that we’ve continued to develop the tools required to ensure that our growth continues in the right direction.’
