Konica Minolta has been awarded a global leadership position on the Climate A List by CDP, an international not-for-profit organisation engaged in activities to realise a sustainable economy.
The Climate A List is composed of companies that have been recognised as global leaders in terms of goals set and actions taken to combat climate change. In 2021 more than 12,000 companies were covered, with 204 being included in the final list in recognition of their efforts to reduce CO2 emissions, mitigate climate change and contribute to a low-carbon economy.
Konica Minolta was one of 56 Japanese companies included on the list, the sixth time the firm has been recognised by CDP. Shoei Yamana, president and CEO of Konica Minolta, was one of the speakers at an online event held on 19 January to commend all the companies included.
Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe has been particularly active on the sustainability front, focusing especially on the responsible use of energy resources. Specific milestones passed include:
- The European headquarters has been carbon neutral since 2018
- The European headquarters, as well as its subsidiaries in the UK, Belgium, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Spain and most locations in France, are using electricity from renewable sources.
