Brunswick Press, a print service provider which recently relocated from Barnet to Hertfordshire, has installed a Duplo DBM-350 twin tower booklet system via CJB.
The company, which is now based in Potters Bar, specialises in stationery such as business cards, letterheads, folders and booklets, as well as wide-format signage and posters. It also produces banners and exhibition stand displays along with a variety of direct-to-object and garment printing.
The new DBM-350, which joins two pre-existing DC-446 multi finishers, will help the company achieve its objectives, as owner Mark Wootten explains, ‘Our plan is to grow our business further by being able to bring more work in-house, speed up throughput and improve quality, and we couldn’t do that with our smaller Watkiss bookletmaker, so we made the choice to opt for the Duplo booklet system. The DBM-350 is faster to set up, easier to run and enables larger pagination booklets so we just had to go for it.
‘During the pandemic like everybody else, the work dried up overnight but we were very lucky. We had created an online portal for much of our products which meant that we had revenue from online customers, which actually saw an increase in business. We also made use of the furlough scheme but thankfully we are now back to pre-pandemic staff levels and work has been increasing month on month. With restrictions being lifted all over the country we’re hoping that the next few months will see even more increases with incoming orders and our online shop has never been busier.’
The system was purchased through CJB and Mr Wootten was full of praise for Duplo’s partner. ‘Every step of the way the team at CJB were thorough and helpful,’ he concluded. ‘As we already have Duplo equipment the interface was very familiar, so it was very easy to pick up – its an extremely easy machine to set up and use and we’re seeing improvements in our production times already. Carl at CJB is easy to deal with, very professional and knows our requirements very well.’
