CMYUK has launched Arkutex, a new range of surface textiles for the built environment. The Shrewsbury-based company says that these materials will enable digital print businesses to offer their existing client base ‘an elevated aesthetic with an array of stunning new solutions that can be produced using their existing digital production technology.’
The firm has also retained the services of KSS, an award-winning architectural and design practice, to design a new dedicated Arkutex showroom and contractor training centre in Bloxwich. The new facility will showcase multiple environments that simulate a wide range of target applications and markets for surface textiles.
Suitable for a range of different environments, including retail, corporate, hospitality, leisure, heritage, events, exhibitions, education, and healthcare, Arkutex materials are intended to bestow a ‘premium feel’ and are available in widths of up to 5m.
The range includes single piece stretch fabrics that simulate solid structures, walls and ceilings, enabling digitally printed designs or plain textiles to fabricate spatial areas, which extend the scope and potential of surface interiors. Arkutex products can also incorporate features including backlit walls and panels, while additional elements such as acoustic grade sound management, lighting, HVAC, and telecoms systems can be safely and easily integrated.
Mick Crook, CMYUK’s business development director for materials, commented, ‘The Arkutex portfolio of surface textiles represents a fully specified opportunity for our clients to access new applications in multiple market sectors. Personalised interiors and décor using environmentally responsible materials is a high growth area and architectural textiles extend this trend even further. Creating new innovations both in design and installation, the scope and versatility that Arkutex offers, provides a compelling narrative with the potential to secure greater profitability and build more resilience into our customers’ business operations.’
Robin East, the company’s commercial director, added, ‘We are delighted to launch this new specialist division and are particularly excited to be working with KSS to establish a new showroom and fitting training centre. This new facility will showcase the full potential of textile architecture applications that will engage and inspire the high-end architectural/D&B community and associated media.’
Available immediately, the Arkutex brand meets rigorous health and safety, fire and environmental certifications.
