Epson has launched two new 1.1m (44-inch), dye-sublimation roll-fed printers – the SureColor SC-F6400 four-colour and SureColor SC-F6400H six-colour.
Designed for low to medium-volume printing, the printers are designed for textile production, personalised products and high-end photo reproduction. Using Epson’s Micro TFP PrecisionCore print heads technology, the machines offer different advantages, depending on the application.
The SC-F6400 increases productivity by 20% compared to its predecessor, the SC-F6300. The SC-F6400H provides an extended colour gamut by offering CMYK plus a choice of either fluorescent pink and fluorescent yellow, light cyan and light magenta or orange and violet additional colours. As Epson’s first six-colour dye-sublimation printer, it’s expected to appeal to users producing fashion, homewear, sportswear, soft signage and promotional items.
The SC-F6400 and SC-F6400H include new 1.6l ink packs that contain 45% more ink, reducing replacement frequency and waste. The ink packs only need to be shaken and inserted, and do not require pouring and stirring, with the potential for spillage. The printers also feature a new touch screen which is 30% larger than the previous model.
Tom Owers, product manager at Epson, said, ‘With a high market share, Epson has built a strong reputation for supporting business with true end-to-end printing solutions that offer the highest levels of quality, flexibility and cost-efficiency. These new printers are perfect examples of our commitment to listening to market needs and delivering timely and effective solutions.’
