Tradeprint has invested in a Canon VarioPrint iX3200 sheet-fed inkjet press to increase its digital capacity and help drive new business.
Headquartered in Dundee and part of the wider Cimpress Group, Tradeprint produces materials such as booklets and brochures, large format prints and packaging for a wide range of customers across multiple sectors. It recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Tradeprint invested in the VarioPrint iX3200 in a bid to optimise its production workflows and improve efficiency in its offset runs. According to the company, the installation has allowed it to increase its production capacity and achieve higher quality print for its customers at a much faster speed. The organisation has also been able to expand its range of printed booklets as a result.
The installation is the first inkjet device for Tradeprint, and was purchased to complement the company’s offset capability. Canon notes that its inkjet presses deliver a combination of environmental benefits via the use of long life piezo print heads, water-based pigment inks and lower energy consumption.
Rod Scrimgeour, operations director at Tradeprint, said, ‘Our experience with Canon has been nothing short of excellent and on a tight deadline, the team turned the installation around swiftly and professionally. Colour management is a key component of our business and we have been investing in systems which ensure that the colours and quality that our customers are demanding are delivered. The VarioPrint iX3200 supports this ambition and is also exceptionally reliable compared to many other devices. It’s easy to use, and our operators now have more flexibility to carry out other tasks whilst managing the machine.’
