Varo, a specialist machinery builder which sits in the Friedheim packaging division, is bringing two new pieces of equipment to the UK.
The e-com packer is available in two sizes. The e-com packer 900 has one line with one cover size (up to A3/tabloid). It can pack up to 900 ready to ship units per hour and can handle multiple items. The Varo e-com packer 1800 has two lines and can simultaneously pack up to 1800 units per hour in two different cover sizes, also handling multiple items.
Customers have claimed a big leap in productivity with a personnel cost reduction of 80%, while packaging material costs halved.
The pallet unwrapper accepts pallets at its base then measures them, cuts through the wrapping without harming the contents, and finally removes the wrapping for recycling. This is done without the need for human operation or interaction.
The Varo e-com packer will allow e-commerce customers an alternative to the existing box closing or lidding machines available in the market at present. The immediate 50% minimum saving on cardboard consumption and the speeds of up to 1800 packs per hour will reduce packaging costs and help with the labour shortage issues.
The Varo Group is a management owned company with 100 employees based in the town of Hornslett, Denmark. The company develops and manufactures customised and standardised production equipment and automation solutions.
