Chatham, Kent-based large format digital printing and installation company PressOn has invested in its second HP Latex R2000 printer to enable the business to take on more work in profitable markets, including transport livery.

PressOn recently used the printer to wrap six electric cabs in the city of London as part of an ongoing sustainability project to showcase an eco-friendly printing practice. PressOn selected products that have a low impact on the environment and chose to partner with HP and Metamark to produce the branding of the cabs with recyclable self-adhesive vinyl.

Since opening in 2000, PressOn has specialised in high-quality large-format digital printing for both indoor and outdoor advertising purposes. In that time the business has counted the likes of Harrods, Dior, and Fendi among its clients.

PressOn has been an HP customer for over 15 years, using the latter’s latex water-based inks to avoid solvent emissions. HP also influenced PressOn’s decision to no longer use PVC as a primary substrate and switch to a variety of greener options, such as PVC-free vinyl and polyester PET materials.

Andy Wilson, managing director at PressOn, said, ‘Our focus for next year is to continue educating our customers on new and best printing practices with minimal environmental impact. The key to our successful, sustainable future is to find like-minded partners that share similar values so the company can evolve naturally on the sustainable front.

‘This is why we continue to invest in HP’s portfolio of latex printers as the devices have an incredible colour gamut and environmental credentials, helping us support our customers’ demand for environmentally sound supply chain without compromising on print quality.’
