Multi-channel communications specialist CFH has invested in a Canon VarioPrint iX3200 sheet-fed inkjet press to replace its older toner printers, in order to gain the benefits of inkjet technology with a view to future-proofing the business.
Based in Radstock, Somerset, CFH provides high quality print and mail applications to over 30,000 customers across a variety of sectors, producing and delivering over 66.3 million postal packs in 2023 to date. The top priorities when selecting the iX3200 were performance reliability and media versatility. The new inkjet digital press is expected to enable CFH to enhance its production workflow and to equip the company with tools to grow its business.
The iX3200 will complement an existing Canon ColorStream 6900. Together, these will improve the quality of CFH products, enable the company to reduce its fleet size in line with its digital transformation goals and enhance its web-to-print offering. Having already installed an iX3200 at its factory in Scotland, CFH is confident that the inkjet can deliver the same output as several toner-based machines, with a positive ROI.
CFH has achieved a running speed of 320 images per minute and an average uptime of over 90% from the existing machine and so is confident of high productivity and reliability. Cost efficiency and sustainability were key considerations during this installation process, with the iX3200 consolidating production to reduce base image cost and overheads, including energy usage.
Steve Cray, group production director, CFH, commented, ‘We’re delighted to continue our long-standing relationship with Canon and continue to invest in commercial printing platforms. In turn, we receive the best in class, high-quality services over a wide variety of media applications. Our Canon devices are proven to deliver high levels of productivity and a positive ROI, along with continuous, excellent customer service support.’
Stuart Rising, head of commercial print at Canon UK & Ireland, added, ‘We value our continued partnership with CFH, and are excited to see how they are utilising Canon technology to level up their customer service, and optimise their operation across all areas of business. The implementation of the VarioPrint iX3200 will enable the business to reach the next level of digital productivity, giving it the capacity to work with new and existing markets.’
