Precision Card Services, manufacturer and supplier of eco-degradable and made-from-recycled-plastic cards and associated services has celebrated its 30th anniversary.
A frequent nominee in the Digital Printer Awards, and winner of the 2023 workflow category, the company was established in 1993 by Rob Nicholls and Tim Holt. The Cheshire based business which now employs around 40 people has seen its commitment to innovation and service being recognised with numerous other awards, as well as being named in the Sunday Times‘ Best Place to Work list.
‘We are incredibly grateful to our loyal customers, dedicated employees, and supportive partners, who have been integral to our success throughout the 30 years of PCS,’ says managing director Adam Unsworth. ‘We look forward to seeing PCS continue to grow in the coming years.’
In 2018, the company expanded its operations by launching the Plastic Card Hub web-to-print platform, alongside a £1 million state-of-the-art digital print production facility, adding to the company’s service offering and continuing growth. A management buy-out in 2021 saw Tim Holt become sole owner, with the business subsequently being acquired by Woodberry Packaging in 2023.
In 2022 the company rebranded to Precision Card Services, literally ‘dropping the plastic’, with the introduction of cards made from 100% recycled PVC to its product offering. The company says change from Plastic to Precision signifies how the business has evolved whilst further demonstrating its commitment to sustainability and being a responsible manufacturer within the print industry.
